Holy Week

As we step into Holy Week (the days leading up to the crucifixion & resurrection of Jesus), it’s far too easy to forget all that took place for our freedom. We wanted to create something this year to help immerse you in the narrative a bit more… We’re excited to announce that we are releasing 4 songs available immediately to help draw you into these historic days!

We got to work with a lot of amazing artists, musicians, and producers on this project! We are grateful for each of their contributions and so happy with the results. We hope you are too!

Maundy Thursday - John 13:34-35

The first song is from John 13:34-35 written by Paul Zach, Jessica Fox, and Orlando Palmer. Maundy Thursday focuses in on the night of Jesus’ betrayal, remembering his command (or “mandate,” which is why it’s called Maundy Thursday) to the love one another.

Good Friday - Psalm 22:1-2

The second song is from Psalm 22:1-2 and was written by Jessica Fox and recorded with Paul and Orlando. This intense passage was quoted by Jesus on the cross and reminds us of how dark this day was! This day was marked by pain, forsakenness, and a sense of isolation and abandonment.

Holy Saturday - Matthew 27:62-66

The third song is from Matthew 27:62-66 and highlights the only 5 verses in the Bible that talk about what happened on Holy Saturday. It’s the day between Good Friday and Easter Sunday… It’s a day of silence and waiting. This song features Julius Coles and Sharlene Provilus and invites to meditate on the words of Jesus promising that “after three days I will rise.”

Easter Sunday - Matthew 28:5-6

The fourth and final song being released is Matthew 28:5-6 and features the words an angel spoke to the two Mary’s at the empty tomb on that Easter morning! Aaron Strumpel sings this song and is accompanied by Hannah Glavor and Orlando Palmer. We hope this song releases some Easter joy in you this year!
