For with the LORD there is steadfast love,

Christmas. Finally, the moment the watchmen were waiting for had come! The darkness was interrupted by the light. Interestingly it didn’t happen in the way most thought it would! The light burst forth not in a regal palace or a military overthrow or from an important metropolis; the light came instead to the small town of Bethlehem and was placed in a humble feeding trough. Picture yourself walking up to the manger that first Christmas morning. What do you see? In verse 7, we’re told that with the LORD there is steadfast love… Not just steadfast love, but also plentiful redemption. What a kind, perfect, and providential gift from our Father of Lights! In this manger, bundled in the Person of Jesus, is God’s outrageous gift of steadfast love and plentiful redemption. Are there any iniquities too great for us that would keep this gift of God from us? Absolutely not. Jesus would redeem His people from all their iniquities through coming as a baby and ultimately laying down His life on the cross for our sins… Where do you need His steadfast love? Where do you need plentiful redemption? Know that both are yours in Christ!
