Day Twenty One: Psalm 130:5-6
Read
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope;
my soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen for the morning,
more than watchmen for the morning.

The story of Advent is precisely at the heart of this verse: one day the coming Dawn will break and all our suffering and tears and pain will be done away with. Jesus Himself will return to heal this world and to rule and reign over it. He is the Dawn we long for. He is the sunrise we’ve waited our whole lives for. It’s easy to lose hope and give up faith that He’ll do what we said, but Advent is an invitation to hope and believe again! To remind ourselves that the words of the Apostles’ Creed aren’t just words on an ancient document, but Story that’s actually true and taking place right now! We are told that Jesus is “…is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.” He came and will come again! Where have you lost sight of this story? Ask for the eyes to see yourself thick in it again today!
